Spot provides free, practical and high-quality services for immigrants living in Finland who want to learn the skills needed for self-employment or plan to start their own businesses in the future. Whether you’re interested in self-employment or dreaming of launching your own business someday, Spot offers free entrepreneurship coaching and courses to help you became entrepreneur, pop-up -shop to test your business and community office to network. We collaborate with various entrepreneurship services and networks, connecting aspiring entrepreneurs with similar interests. Our services are available in Finnish, English, and Somali.

Who is a coach and entrepreneur Elvis Fuamba?

Chief Operating Officer at Afri-Nordic Connect Oy, with a 20-year entrepreneurial background and a keen focus on business innovation and coaching. Elvis founded Afrofinns. He is also a storyteller and documentarist.

This is his story:

I didn’t dive into the business realm with sky-high dreams. It all started as a small business owner, a role I embraced for over 20 years. You know the grind – back-to-back client check-ins, the hustle, and the routines! Over time, I yearned for more. Not for bigger paychecks, as I left that behind, but for a purpose. Something deeper, something impactful.

Driven by this hunger, armed with hope, I followed the tried-and-tested paths of traditional business. The good old business plan and several recipes for success programs. The outcome? My business plan crashed and burned. Back to square one.

But setbacks? They’re just setups for comebacks. I wasn’t about to retreat. I took my freelancing knowledges and channeled them into creating a new avenue for myself as an entrepreneur. I made an audacious move, I went for my dreams. And let me tell you, it wasn’t just about learning. It was about transformation. Suddenly, I found myself amidst industry giants, soaking up gold-standard strategies and fresh insights. I joined a newly formed company, Afri-Nordic Connect oy (a company focused on building sustainable partnerships between Africa and the Nordic countries), and in our first 3 months, we managed to negotiate a contract in Africa worth over a million Euros, and when fully secured, this will be worth over 7 million. I also took my passion for coaching and a few years in, with a lot of creations locally in Finland. We are looking international, with a client and friend of mine organizing one of the biggest concerts in The Gambia with his newly created production company, Gamlegend, which I helped coach to existence.

Here in Kalliola`s @Spot.yrittajyysvalmentamo Elvis take a new role as a coach/teacher to help aspiring business owners with a foreign background.
